Eldon and Sherry Nygaard together with the help of our son and daughter, Leif and Jeanette, planted our first Vineyard along the hills of Turkey Ridge Creek near Viborg, South Dakota in the Spring of 1993. The Valiant grape developed at South Dakota State University was one of the first grape varieties planted because of its cold hardy characteristics. At our new Buffalo Run Winery in Vermillion on the scenic bluff overlooking the Missouri and Vermillion rivers, visitors can taste as well as buy our wines. The large underground barrel aging cellar allows us to create outstanding hand-crafted limited edition wines.
