Callaghan Vineyards took shape after too many dinners/evenings (1987 - 1991) spent drinking the wines of Ravenswood, Calera, Edmunds St. John and other, at that time, smaller California producers. My parents, (Harold & Karen), and my tastes quickly developed a strong preference for the flavorful, deep, concentrated style originally found in these wines. Callaghan Vineyards' wines, now spanning seven vintages, are intended as an Arizona-based interpetation of the winemaking philosophy that has driven these and other artisanal winemakers for centuries.
